We are thrilled to announce Serena Hak has been selected as the 2025 Sweatman Award recipient! Her longstanding leadership and continued commitment to the CAGP GTA Chapter and CAGP National Board and its purpose-driven mission and vision have made a huge impact on strategic charitable giving in Canada.
Serena has been a member of CAGP GTA Chapter since 2013 and served as Chapter Chair from 2017 to 2020. She joined the CAGP National Board in 2021 and began serving as Chair of the National Board in 2025. Throughout all of this, she has remained deeply connected to the GTA Chapter — attending education sessions, supporting us as a sponsor through the Donor Motivation Program, generously providing CI Financial’s space for Chapter use, and mentoring current and past Chapter Chairs with generosity and care.
Serena is deeply committed to CAGP and its members, and ensuring that education, research, and advocacy efforts remain both innovative and inclusive. She continuously amplifies the Will Power message that every Canadian can leave a legacy of generosity. She believes the future of gift planning in Canada lies in the seamless integration of heart and expertise – and Serena is an exemplary leader who exudes both of these impressive qualities.
The Sweatman Award recognizes leadership, service, and integrity within our community, and Serena exemplifies all three. We’re delighted to recognize her contributions in this way.
This special Award was established in 2004 by Jasmine Sweatman, to recognize a senior CAGP member on the basis of their contributions to the CAGP GTA Chapter and to the field of strategic charitable gift planning.
Serena will be presented with The Sweatman Award at the CAGP GTA Winter Social on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 5:30 pm at Kelly’s Landing in downtown Toronto. Join us to celebrate her achievements and ring in the new year!
